Nine Inch Nails announce full line-up for Future Ruins: “Every artist is a headliner”

Nine Inch Nails have announced their new festival, Future Ruins, bringing together the biggest composers in the world for a special event.

Future Ruins is set to take place at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center on November 8th, 2025, with Nine Inch Nails duo Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, who have won multiple Oscars for ‘Best Original Score, also scheduled to perform.

The festival is described as a “first-of-its-kind of music festival: a day-long event where the world’s most influential film and television composers step out from behind the screen and onto the stage”.

In a statement, Reznor explained that his reasoning for staging the event was to give these celebrated composers the chance to perform live, sharing, “It’s about giving people who are, literally, the best in the world at taking audiences on an emotional ride via music the opportunity to tell new stories in an interesting live setting.”

The website for Future Ruins boasts: “Every artist is a headliner, each with their own specially curated moment. Each artist is encouraged to take big swings and reimagine their work for a live audience. Ranging from electronic sets and live bands to orchestral performances, fans have the chance to experience live debuts from composers who rarely appear onstage.”

Acts confirmed for Future Ruins include John Carpenter, Danny Elfman, Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin, Mark Mothersbaugh, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, Ben Salisbury and Geoff Barrow, Questlove, Isobel Waller-Bridge, and Terence Blanchard.

Reznor and Ross’ soundtrack work includes The Social Network, Watchmen, Gone Girl, Soul, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Challengers, Empire of Light, Waves, The Vietnam War, Mank, and The Killer.

While they won’t be performing Nine Inch Nails material at Future Ruins, they will be taking their Peel It Back tour across the UK, Europe and North America in 2025.

The industrial rock icons will begin the extensive run of dates on June 15th, 2025, at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland. Nine Inch Nails will then head to the United Kingdom for a performance at Manchester’s Co-op Live on June 17th before playing at London’s O2 Arena on June 18th. It will then visit mainland Europe and North America.
