Neil Young reveals he is eight songs into new album with the Chrome Hearts
Neil Young has announced that he has eight new songs ready for a new album with The Chrome Hearts.
The singer-songwriter cancelled his European summer tour with The Chrome Hearts last month, but he’s far from dwindling his thumbs.
In a new post on the Neil Young Archives, the musician wrote, “I am so hurt for this country. Politics today is so sad and depressing for me. I can’t do it anymore.”
However, he hasn’t allowed this level of despondency to numb him into inaction. “I can go out and demonstrate my feelings about it,” he continued.
Young, who never shies from making political remarks, also wrote, “We have the worst president in the history of our country. Every day, a bad TV show produced by DJT is what we get…Now, thankfully, once again, I’m in the studio recording a new album with the Chrome Hearts.”
Speaking to the eight new tracks he has laid down, the singer added, “I love the songs and the feelings of life and love. Music is. So far we have eight new songs. They make me feel.”
Young’s latest album, titled Talkin to the Trees, was recorded along with The Chrome Hearts and was released on June 13th last year. Most of the songs, bar ‘Silver Eagle’, were left off Young’s setlist in his latest bout of touring.
Last year, Young performed around Europe, including headline dates at Glastonbury and BST Hyde Park in the UK, before embarking upon a North American tour.
Young recently opened up about his cancelled UK and European tour, for later this year which was scheduled to kick off in Cornwall on June 17th at the Eden Sessions, before visiting Manchester, France, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, and Italy: “Just needed a break. Listening to my body,” he explained.
