My Chemical Romance fans were given a horrific treat today when the band decided to use a global YouTube premiere to announce a comprehensive US tour.
The Kings of emo, My Chemical Romance have been toying with us of late. The band have been dropping morsels of fan nourishment since they announced their live return late last year. Now, they have finally given us the full meal and announced a US tour,
After a series of videos later leading to announcements of shows and tours eyes have been firmly glued to every move the social media accounts made for the band.
Yesterday saw the band drop a new video titled ‘MCRXX’ arrive on their social media accounts and all hell break loose as fans suspected the clip was from an upcoming music video.
When in fact it was from a truly cinematic look back at the iconography of MCR with nods to songs ‘Helena’, ‘I’m Not Okay’ and many more. All through the story of one boy’s escape from some seriously weird looking figures.
The video was shared on YouTube as a live premiere with nearly 50,000 accounts watching by the time the video commenced. With many leaving feeling somewhat disappointed that new music wasn’t on the way.
