Mike Myers acts in uncomfortable skit with “Kanye West” on Saturday Night Live

During the final episode of Saturday Night Live‘s 50th season, Mike Myers starred as himself in an awkward spoof with Kanye West, played by Kenan Thompson.

The sketch takes place in an elevator, which Myers boards along with two starstruck fans, played by Scarlett Johansson and Marcello Hernandez. Suddenly, Kanye West gets on.

He begins by complaining about Spotify removing his April song ‘Cousins’, which was a nod to his recent song, ‘Heil Hitler’, being taken off the platform. It is also a nod to his recent rant on X, during which he suggested he had sexual relations with a cousin of his. Other posts on the social media platform has indicated that the star is a Nazi, confirmed when he tried to shell shirts adorned with swasticas online.

Myers sweats being in close proximity to the star: “I get really claustrophobic,” Myers says. ‘Ye’ responds: “Oh, trust me. I understand. I’m a few phobics myself.”

They also briefly discuss their first meeting, during an NBC benefit telethon, when West famously declared, “George Bush doesn’t care about Black people.”

Kanye also says in the spoof that he’s now in “the KKK,” to which Myers replies: “Of course you are.”

When speaking about the ongoing Diddy trial, his character also muses, “You think you know a guy, turns out to be a full blown monster.”

Scarlett Johansson also made headlines after the historic episode as Michael Che brought her out in the ‘Weekend Update’ segment to apologise for a previous joke lovingly. He usually co-runs the segment with her husband, Colin Jost.

In the episode, musician Bad Bunny performed his songs ‘Nuevayol’ and ‘Perfumito Neuvo’, marking his third time as the musical guest on the show. The singer is the ninth most listened to artist on Spotify, so his appearance rounded out the ending in style.
