Justin Bieber denies being abused by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs amid trial
Justin Bieber’s team have released an official statement in response to unfounded rumours that he was abused by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.
In a statement made to People, the singer’s spokesperson stressed that Bieber is not involved in Combs’ affairs. “Although Justin is not among Sean Combs’ victims, there are individuals who were genuinely harmed by him,” the statement read.
“Shifting focus away from this reality detracts from the justice these victims rightfully deserve,” the spokesperson added.
This is similar to a statement obtained by People in September, after Combs was arrested. “He’s aware of Diddy’s arrest and all the allegations,” the insider shared of Bieber at the time. “It’s not anything that he wants to focus on, though.”
Combs is charged with five counts of sex trafficking, racketeering, and sexual abuse. He has pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.
The statement comes as unfounded rumours of Bieber’s involvement with Combs have been running wild on social media. This is most notable in response to resurfaced videos in which Combs and Bieber as a teenager can be seen talking about hanging out together.
“Where we hanging out and what we’re doing we can’t really disclose. But it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream,” Combs said in one particular clip. “For the next 48 hours, he’s with me. And we’re gonna go full. Buck full crazy.”
This week, the trial has seen Combs’ ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura take the stand against the music mogul, revealing the true nature of the drug-fuelled sex ‘freak-offs’ that Combs would allegedly force her to partake in, and later blackmail her with the footage. The trial is set to last at least two months.
