Mick Jagger wants The Rolling Stones to tour again: “I can’t wait”

Mick Jagger has confirmed that he wants The Rolling Stones to tour again in the future.

Although their new album, Foreign Tongues, is just around the corner, set to arrive on July 10th, The Rolling Stones do not have any tour dates lined up to promote the record.

Additionally, it has now been almost two years since The Stones performed live, which is unusually long by their standards, but Jagger’s latest comments suggest they have no plans to retire from the stage anytime soon.

During a new interview with BBC Radio 2 for Tracks of My Years, which saw him and Ronnie Wood look back upon the ten songs that have soundtracked their lives, Jagger responded to the looming question about whether The Stones will ever tour again.

“I’d love to go on tour, I can’t wait,” Jagger shared, before calming fans’ expectations of any imminent announcements, adding, “I don’t think it’s going to be this year, but hopefully it’s going to be as soon as possible.”

Jagger’s comments arrive after Keith Richards recently made similar remarks. During an interview with the AP at a launch event for Foreign Tongues in New York earlier this month, Richards was asked directly about whether fans “can expect a world tour”, to which he replied, “We can talk next year.”

The legendary guitarist elaborated, “I mean, possibly. At the moment, we’re just sort of saying, we’ve finished the record, let’s do this. We’re basically considering what to do after. Pretty soon, but not this year.”

The discussions about a new tour come amid reports that The Stones previously axed plans for a 2026 tour, which was supposedly set to see them perform across Europe.

Additionally, it was previously reported that The Rolling Stones were due to hit the road in 2025 across the continent, including dates at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

Earlier this year, a spokesperson for the band ruled out the prospect of any dates in support of Foreign Tongues, telling The Times, “The Rolling Stones will play when they decide to, not before. There are no concerts planned.”

For 2026, Stones fans will have to settle with Foreign Tongues until an official announcement eventually arrives for a future tour.
