Metallica extend Las Vegas Sphere residency into 2027
Metallica have added even more dates to their Las Vegas Sphere residency, taking the total number of shows to 24.
At the end of February, the rock legends confirmed ongoing speculation that they’d take up a residency at the high-tech Sin City venue with double-weekend spreads, performing on most Thursdays and Sundays in October.
A handful of days later, they announced that they would add six more dates to the Life Burns Faster residency, though they kept the exact dates under wraps.
Now, the icons have revealed that the extension includes even more shows. They wrote online, “This is it—we’re maxing out Life Burns Faster… more dates have been added to the run, bringing our upcoming Sphere residency to 24 shows.”
They have now confirmed shows on November 5th and 7th to round out 2026, following which they will kick off the new year with shows on January 28th and 30th.
They will play throughout February, namely on the 4th, 6th, 18th, 20th, 25th, and 27th. The last handful of dates will take place in March on the 4th, 6th, 11th, and 13th.
The residency will see Metallica continue their No Repeat Weekends tradition that they enforced on their M72 world tour. This rule stops them from playing the same song twice during any given weekend and encourages fans to attend multiple shows.
Two-night tickets are available for fans who “want the full weekend experience”.
In the original announcement, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich explained, “This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months’ time, and way fuckin’ psyched to go next level!”
24 nights in Las Vegas is no small feat, but the band must undertake their huge UK and European stadium tour first, which is set to begin on May 9th in Athens at the Olympic Stadium.
