Liam Gallagher says rumoured Oasis shows will be the “opposite of a farewell tour”
Liam Gallagher has promised that the rumoured Oasis tour in 2027 will be the “opposite of a farewell”.
While talk of a 2027 tour has been heavily speculated for months, noises have grown louder in recent weeks, and now, even Liam is wading into the discussion.
On July 3rd, a report from the Manchester Evening News claimed they are set to announce a new tour “within weeks”, which is said to include 12-nights at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester.
Subsequently, another report from The Sun backed up the claims about 12 homecoming shows in Manchester, which are rumoured to begin in June.
The publication also stated that Oasis are gearing up to return to Knebworth for six-shows in September 2027, more than 30 years after their famous performances in 1996.
Amid the speculation, Liam has remained active on X, even taking time to reassure one fan who wrote, “Woke up thinking as if seems a farewell tour but hope I am wrong,” to which the Oasis frontman said, “Its the opposite of a farewell tour it’s more like who fucking wants kinda of a tour”.
In a subsequent post, he added, “WHO FUCKING WANTS IT KIND OFF A TOUR”.
Even though Oasis aren’t playing any live dates in 2026, the band are currently gearing up to release the behind-the-scenes documentary, which has been given the fitting title of Don’t Look Back in Anger, which tells the story of their reunion and Oasis Live’ 25 tour.
The first trailer for the film, set to open in cinemas on September 11th, arrived at the weekend, successfully ramping up expectations even more.
In the 46-second clip that gives fans their first taste of what’s to come, viewers find Oasis preparing to stage the mother of all comebacks with Noel conceding, “I just don’t see myself on stage with Liam, I just don’t see it.”
Meanwhile, in another part of the video, which also includes footage of Oasis in rehearsals, Liam reflects on their split in a voiceover, stating, “The way it finished… unacceptable.”
Additionally, ‘Wonderwall’ is currently enjoying a new lease of life as the unofficial anthem for England’s World Cup run, with fans and players singing the anthem together in full voice after each victory.
Both Gallagher brothers are in full support of the England adoption, with Liam telling a fan on X that he wants it to continue because “the country needs good vibrations until the mighty O comes back life is meant to be good not shit”.
