Liam Gallagher urges England fans to “keep the biblical vibrations going” with ‘Wonderwall’

Liam Gallagher has given his full support to England fans and players adopting Oasis’ ‘Wonderwall’ as their World Cup anthem.

After the first victory of the tournament against Croatia in the group stages, ‘Wonderwall’ was played over the stadium speaker, which led to a delightful embrace between the England fans and team, who sang the classic anthem together.

Last night, after Harry Kane’s two goals saw England stage a late comeback to overcome DR Congo, the scenes were repeated again at the Atlanta Stadium.

Now, Liam has urged fans to keep singing ‘Wonderwall’, taking to X to write, “Let’s keep the BIBLICAL VIBRATIONS going if the the GOVERNMENTS we put in power can’t bring it then it’s down to the PEOPLE cmon ENGLAND”.

Additionally, in response to a fan who replied, “I can tell you’re pleased with this England win”, Gallagher said he wants the national team to fill the feel-good void carved out by Oasis last summer, writing, “I am the country needs good vibrations until the mighty O comes back life is meant to be good not shit”.

While no further Oasis dates have been announced since their Oasis Live ’25 came to a close last November, another leg in 2027 has been heavily speculated, and Liam’s latest comments only make that possibility look increasingly likely.

Throughout the match, Gallagher also gave a running commentary on his preferred social media platform, posting remarks such as, “Cmon England cmon Wonderwall”, and following the winning goal, he characteristically shared, “Harry Kane lick it up to ras”.

He also told one disgruntled fan who was moaning about the England team and fans uniting through ‘Wonderwall’ to “cheer up you spunkbubble”.

Meanwhile, Noel Gallagher, despite not being an England fan, is also in favour of the song’s new lease of life, telling TalkSPORT, “Do you know what, I thought it was a great moment, I couldn’t actually believe what I was saying.”

“I’m staggered that Jude Bellingham knows the lyrics, but it’s one of those songs,” he added, in reference to footage of the Real Madrid star belting out the song in Texas, who was again in full voice for ‘Wonderwall’ on July 1st in Atlanta.

Fingers crossed that England fans get another opportunity to sing ‘Wonderwall’ at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City on July 5th after another win.
