Liam Gallagher leaves door open to future Oasis music despite manager’s comments: “Let’s just take it one day at a time”
Liam Gallagher has left the door open to future music from Oasis despite their co-manager ruling out the prospect of another album.
The band’s co-manager, Alec McKinlay, recently confirmed that the band has no plans to release another album or perform more shows beyond the reunion tour. In a new interview with Music Week, McKinlay, who co-runs Ignition Management with Marcus Russell, said of the upcoming set of dates: “This is very much the last time around, as Noel’s made clear in the press. It’s a chance for fans who haven’t seen the band to see them, or at least for some of them to.”
McKinlay also ruled out the possibility of another album by Oasis in the future, adding, “But no, there’s no plan for any new music.”
Now, Gallagher has taken to his X account to say nobody knows whether Oasis will make more music and the decision is in the band’s hands, writing, “Neither do I and the only people that will be making any kind of decisions on the future of OASIS will be ME n RKID so let’s just take it 1 day at a time.”
Another fan said about McKinlay’s comments, “Why would a manager say this in an interview? There must be a degree of truth to it. But any announcements or decisions on the future should come solely from the Gallagher brothers,” to which Gallagher replied, “He’s the accountant”.
In another post, Gallagher wrote: “Funny how we’re not doing any interviews but every Tom Dick and Harriot seem to be”.
Last month, Noel Gallagher appeared on TalkSPORT and confirmed he’d been in the studio but didn’t say whether he’d recorded any material. He shared, “I’m in the studio just noodling around. We’re getting ready for rehearsals to start now in about three weeks, and then, yeah, we’ll see what happens.”
Oasis are set to finally reunite in less than tour months when their tour is scheduled to begin on July 4th at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Preparations are now in full swing, with rehearsals believed to start this month, before the Gallagher brothers take to the road for the most highly anticipated tour of the decade, which sold out in record time.
Their world tour consists of 41 stadium dates, which, as well as the UK and Ireland, will also take them to North America, South America, Japan, South Korea, and Australia.
