LCD Soundsystem announce eight-date London residency
LCD Soundsystem have announced plans to return to London for an eight-date residency at O2 Academy Brixton.
The James Murphy-fronted group will arrive in Britain for the set of performances in June. They will perform at the famous venue in Brixton from June 12th until June 15th. The following week, they will return for four more shows from June 19th until June 22nd.
Last summer was momentous for LCD Soundsystem in the United Kingdom. In addition to their Pyramid Stage appearance at Glastonbury Festival, they also headlined All Points East in London’s Victoria Park.
In a review of their All Points East set, Far Out wrote: “Then, as ‘All My Friends’ — one of the anthems of a generation — began to power out of the PA system and the swirling energy of a combustible audience finally took off like an untetherable rocket and I bounced with glee in a circle surrounded by my pals and a mesh of flags, lights and that one beautiful hot dog vendor everything became clear.
Although LCD Soundsystem has not played live in 2025 so far, they have a busy schedule ahead. They have a headline tour planned for the United States and multiple festival appearances set for Europe during the summer.
When LCD Soundsystem were announced to perform at Primavera Sound in Barcelona in 2025 last October, the festival stated that they were due to release a new album ahead of their set.
Upon announcing the band’s participation at Primavera Sound, the event shared: “The influential band led by James Murphy will come back to the festival (and with a new album!) to make it clear that, although they are an inherent part of our best memories, their time is always now.”
The New York group’s last album was 2017’s American Dream. Last year, they returned with the standalone single ‘X-Ray Eyes’.
