Lana Del Rey announces support acts for UK stadium tour
Lana Del Rey has finally announced who will join her on her UK stadium tour, only one day before it kicks off.
The singer announced the news late, as the tour and Cardiff Principality Stadium kick off on June 23rd. For this show, English indie pop band London Grammar will take the stage to welcome the Manhattan-born singer on the first night.
After this, American singer-songwriter Banks will provide support on three dates. She will join for a show in Glasgow on June 26th, in Liverpool on June 28th, and a final night in Dublin on June 30th.
Her third and final support is perhaps the most surprising of all. Current it-girl Addison Rae will open for Del Rey at her two Wembley headline shows on July 3rd and July 4th.
Addison Rae will embark on her own tour in August, beginning in Ireland, and making several European stops before racing through America and ending in Australia in November. For her hometown show of Los Angeles, there were over 103,000 people in the queue for a 2,300 capacity venue. Rae’s debut Album, Addison, has shot her to the top of the charts.
The aloof musician announced the news in an Instagram post captioned simply, “Lettttts go!” Soon after, in another post sharing a photo of the star celebrating her latest birthday, Lana wrote, “I’m so excited to see everybody starting tomorrow on tour and for all the folks joining us. Truly, thank you, thank you, love you.”
The tour was originally in support of an upcoming album titled Lasso, which was then renamed The Right Person Will Stay and was initially due to be released in May. In April, Del Rey announced the project would have a different name and “will not come on time”.
However, she did release two tracks from the album and teased another at her Stagecoach performance.
