Lana Del Rey debuts three new songs at Stagecoach Festival

Lana Del Rey debuted three new songs during her set at the California-based Stagecoach Festival.

The ‘Summertime Sadness’ singer opened her set with a new tune, ‘Husband of Mine’, about her new husband Jeremy Dufrene, and later played a new track, ‘Quiet in the South’.

Del Rey also debuted a song named ‘57.5’, an ode to the number of monthly listeners the singer has on Spotify. The refrain “57.5 million listeners on Spotify” is repeated throughout the song’s chorus. Nonetheless, at the time of writing, this number has already increased to 61.8 million monthly listeners.

She continued on the topic of her followers by bringing her husband into the conversation. “Now I got a man, he really loves me… A fan of mine,” she told the crowd after suggesting Dufrene was in attendance at the set.

The lyrics to the new song include an admission on Del Rey’s part. “I kissed Morgan Wallen/I guess kissing me kind of went to his head,” Del Rey sang. “If you want my secret to success / I suggest don’t go ATVing with him when you’re out west.”

Del Rey was coy about the past kiss the musicians had shared, telling the crowd, “This is the last time I’m ever going to say this line.”

Del Rey has already released two singles from her upcoming, untitled project. She previously released ‘Henry, Come On’ on April 11th. Her latest release, ‘Bluebird‘, came a week later and was inspired by a real event in which a bird smacked into the window doors of her bedroom as if in warning of a bad decision she was about to make.

Followers of Del Rey’s career know to expect the unexpected; in sure fashion, the release date for her tenth studio album remains a mystery. In a video on social media on April 11th, the musician announced that the album was no longer called The Right Person Will Stay, though she didn’t announce a new title. She also said that the May release date would no longer be going ahead, but again, didn’t confirm a new date.
