Lana Del Rey releases new single ‘Bluebird’
While the release of Lana Del Rey’s tenth studio album is still shrouded in some confusion, Del Rey is has offered up another surprise release in the form of the new single ‘Bluebird.
Given the strong sound of ‘Bluebird’, it seems that at least the promise that her tenth record would be a country-inspired release is holding true. Gorgeously sung by Del Rey’s ever-glamorous vocals, the instrumental around her reflects her new interest in Americana as she’s accompanied by warm acoustic guitars and a harmonica in the background.
Although it is produced by her regular collaborator, Drew Erickson, the song is co-written with country artist Luke Laird as Del Rey expanded her circle of teammates to reflect this new influence. Laird has written for a long list of country legends, including Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Kacey Musgraves and many more.
Del Rey’s interest in country is also being taken out into the world with a performance at country festival Stagecoach scheduled for April 25th.
However, fans are left in disarray regarding the release of Del Rey’s album. Initially, this country project was announced as Lasso. Then, she confirmed the title to be The Right Person Will Stay, announcing the release date of May 21st, 2025.
Followers of Del Rey’s career know to take everything with a pinch of salt. So rarely do her release dates run smoothly, and this new album is the same. In a video on social media on April 11th, the musician announced that the album was no longer called The Right Person Will Stay, though she didn’t announce a new title. She also said that the May release date would no longer be going ahead, but again, didn’t confirm a new date.
Now, the project is untitled, and a release date has yet to be confirmed. However, with singles as beautiful as ‘Henry, Come On’ and now ‘Bluebird’, no one seems to mind.
