Kelly Osbourne thanks Ozzy Osbourne fans for their support in emotional message: “I love you all”

Ozzy Osbourne‘s daughter, Kelly Osbourne, has thanked her late father’s fans for their outpouring of love following his passing.

The Black Sabbath icon’s death was announced on July 22nd. The heavy metal pioneer passed away at their family home in Buckinghamshire, England, earlier that day, and it later emerged that emergency services had spent two hours at the property trying to save his life.

Since his death was announced, Black Sabbath Bridge has become a shrine to the hometown hero, and thousands lined the streets of Birmingham on July 30th to honour Osbourne for his funeral procession.

Chants of “Ozzy” broke out in the crowd before an escort of cars, containing the Osbourne family and the late singer’s hearse, arrived on Broad Street. As requested, he was buried the following day at a private service in Buckinghamshire and buried near the lake in his garden.

Now, Kelly has taken to Instagram Stories to thank those who have shown support to her and the Osbourne family during this difficult time. “I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times and still don’t know if the words will ever feel like enough… but from the bottom of my heart, thank you,” she began.

She continued: “The love, support, and beautiful messages I’ve received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain.”

On her ongoing grieving process, Kelly added: “Grief is a strange thing-it sneaks up on you in waves—I will not be ok for a while-but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind.”

Kelly concluded: “Thank you for being there. I love you all so much.”

Just weeks before Osbourne’s passing, he took to the stage for the final time at Villa Park in Birmingham for Back to the Beginning. Not only did this allow him to reunite with the original line-up of Black Sabbath for the first time in more than 20 years, and give the people of Birmingham one last chance to honour him, but Kelly also got engaged to her long-term partner, Slipknot’s Sid Wilson, in front of her father.

Musical acts from all across the spectrum have honoured Osbourne since his passing. Notably, Oasis dedicated ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Star’ to him at Wembley Stadium, Coldplay covered ‘Changes’ just hours after his death, and Johnny Depp joined Alice Cooper at the O2 Arena in London to perform an electric rendition of Black Sabbath’s ‘Paranoid’.
