Julian Casablancas discusses new album from Julian Casablancas+The Voidz

Julian Casablancas+The Voidz are planning to release their second studio album, the former Strokes man has confirmed.

The Voidz, who released their first record Tyranny back in 2014, became only the second piece of solo work from former Strokes frontman Casablancas when it was released via his own personal label Cult Records which featured the standout 11-minute track ‘Human Sadness’.

Far Out reported that guitarist Jeramy ‘Beardo’ Gritter hinted at a new record but refused to release any new details.

Now, in the wake of the news that The Strokes have dismissed any chance of an immediate new release, Julian Casablancas took the decision to confirm a new solo record.

“Gearing up for TheVoidz actually. will have some new music for everyone to publicly judge soon,” he tweeted after Albert Hammond Jr. dismissed new Strokes material before joking: “What Albert Sr meant to say is we are working with NBA point guard Ricky Rubio on a new offense for our basketball league.”

What a bloody laugh!

It is thought that new album The Voidz has been in the works for well over 18 months.
