Jane’s Addiction appear to be back in the studio without Perry Farrell
Jane’s Addiction appear to be working in the studio together again without singer Perry Farrell after he attacked guitarist Dave Navarro onstage last year.
The incident happened last September when Farrell attacked guitarist Dave Navarro during a performance of ‘Ocean Size’ in Boston. Not only did this end the concert, but caused the whole tour to be cancelled and the band then seemingly split up.
In May, Navarro confirmed Jane’s Addiction was no more, sharing in an interview, “There was an altercation onstage, and it all came to a screeching halt and forever destroyed the band’s life. And there’s no chance for the band to ever play together again.”
Then, last month, in a lawsuit, Farrell accused the band’s Navarro, Eric Avery, and Stephen Perkins of overseeing a harassment and bullying campaign against him over several years. The singer also claimed he wasn’t consulted about cancelling their tour and the band splitting up.
The singer’s lawsuit was submitted just hours after Navarro, Avery, and Perkins filed their own lawsuit against Farrell. The trio are seeking at least $10 million in damages from Farrell due to the cancelled tour and the end of all activities with Jane’s Addiction following the fight.
While Jane’s Addiction may have come to an end, Navarro, Avery, and Perkins have been sharing images on social media over the past week, suggesting their story is set to continue. Initially, they all separately shared that they are in the studio with producer Robert Adam Stevenson.
Then, on August 20th, Navarro shared an image of himself in the studio with Avery, Perkins and Stevenson. He captioned the post, “Back at it”. Farrell is not seen in any of the footage that has been uploaded from the studio.
