Dave Navarro confirms there’s “no chance” Jane’s Addiction reunite following on-stage fight

Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro has confirmed the band has no plans to reunite after singer Perry Farrell attacked him on stage last September.

The incident happened on September 13th, 2024, during a performance of ‘Ocean Size’ in Boston, which led to Jane’s Addiction initially cancelling a show at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater, Bridgeport, CT, before the whole tour was canned.

Following the tour cancellation, Navarro issued a statement co-signed by his bandmates that read: “Due to a continuing pattern of behaviour and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour.”

Additionally, Navarro stated that “our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative.” He also said on behalf of the band, “We hope that he will find the help he needs.”

Now, in a new interview with Guitar Player, Navarro named the Boston concert as the worst show of his career, telling the publication, “It would be a gig last September, on Friday the 13th, in Boston.”

Despite how it ended, Navarro adored the European leg of the reunion tour which he described as “some of my favourite Jane’s Addiction gigs of all-time”.

He elaborated: “There was no bullshit: No props. No nothing onstage. No dancing, no pyro, and no gimmicks. It was just four guys making great music, just like we did in the beginning. I was just us on a stage, with people going fucking crazy.”

However, following the Boston show, Navarro has drawn a line under the band’s future, stating, “There was an altercation onstage, and it all came to a screeching halt and forever destroyed the band’s life. And there’s no chance for the band to ever play together again.”

Farrell has kept away from the public eye following the incident. However, he did issue a public apology to Navarro for his behaviour in the immediate aftermath, writing, “This weekend has been incredibly difficult, and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends for my actions during Friday’s show. Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behaviour, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”
