James Blake covers Joy Divison's 'Atmosphere'

James Blake has again taken to social media to deliver another of his sublime live Instagram concerts, this time he took to covering Joy Divison’s ‘Atmosphere’ to provide some much-needed pleasure for his fans during this difficult period amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Blake is one of a vast number of musicians doing their bit to carry on entertaining their fans throughout the crisis and his live shows have been a delight thus far. Radiohead have recently announced they are going to be live-streaming some of their classic concerts, as have The Grateful Dead.

As part of his online show last week, the multi-instrumentalist covered Billie Eilish song ‘When The Party’s Over’, offered a glorious rendition of Radiohead’s ‘No Surprises’ and Joni Mitchell’s ‘A Case Of You’ as well as performing some of his own material.

This week’s concert was just as beautiful, as the 31-year-old put his spin on Joy Division’s ‘Atmosphere’, previewed a new song titled ‘Say What You Will’, performed ‘Forward’ which is his collaboration with Beyoncé as well as some of his own tracks including ‘Life Round Here’ and ‘Retrograde’.

He also covered Ray Charles’ ‘Georgia on My Mind’ and Roberta Flack’s ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’ as part of his set.
