Ben Gibbard, the lead guitarist and vocalist of Death Cab for Cutie, is broadcasting a solo acoustic ‘Live From Home’ session every evening as part of his coronavirus self-isolation.
Gibbard, who is also one half of the electronica act the Postal Service, is performing his live shows at home and streaming them online as an attempt to ease any struggles people may be having by isolating amid the current pandemic on a daily basis.
While putting his sping on Radiohead the day prior, as part of his recent show, Gibbard performed a string of Death Cab for Cutie tracks as well as two solo songs and one by The Postal Service.
As a special addition, the singer offered up his cover of Joy Division / New Order song track ‘Ceremony’.

The ongoing pandemic of coronavirus disease was first officially identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei in China. As of March 19th, more than 220,313 cases of COVID-19 have been officially confirmed but the actual number is thought to be much higher due to substantial under-reporting of cases.
With more than 8,980 people having died from the virus, COVID-19 has now spread into more than 150 other countries—including mainland Europe, South America and North America. Given the exponential growth in cases in countries like Italy and Spain, the WHO have now stated that Europe was the current centre of the pandemic.
