Investigators exploring theory that Celeste Rivas’ body was likely frozen in ongoing murder case

Investigators working on the Celeste Rivas case have suggested the body of the 14-year-old was refrigerated before it was moved to the back of a Tesla owned by musician D4vd.

Rivas’ decomposing body was discovered in a Hollywood tow yard on September 8th. After nine days, the Los Angeles Police Department identified the body on September 17th.

D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke, subsequently cancelled all of his future shows. Earlier this week, the singer was officially identified as a suspect in the case.

The latest update on the case comes from the medical examiner, as per Rolling Stone, who has new reason to believe that the remains were “refrigerated” before they were wrapped in a black bag in the vehicle’s trunk.

TMZ have also cited courses connected to the probe, and has reported that the “partially frozen” body had been thawing out while stowed in the Tesla.

Their report continued to share that Rivas’ head was severed and her limbs were “cut into multiple pieces.” The cause of death “will most likely be ‘undetermined,’” they reported, as refrigeration can make pinpointing a death date extremely difficult.

Experts have been called out to weigh in on what happened before a final autopsy is publicly released.

Rivas, who had been reported missing by her family in 2024, had not been seen publicly for over a year. Her mother has shared that she was aware that Rivas had a boyfriend called David at the time of her disappearance. Rivas and Burke also had matching “Shhh…” tattoos on their right index fingers.

Additionally, her brother previously shared that she knew Burke. He claimed that she was on her way to see a movie with the singer before her disappearance.

Though he is a suspect in the case, Burke has not been arrested. The lawyer of the platinum-selling singer refuses to respond to any requests for comment.
