D4vd cancels remainder of US tour amid investigation into dead body found in his Tesla

Singer D4vd has cancelled the remaining dates of his US tour after the body of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas was discovered in his Tesla in Los Angeles.

Rivas, whose body was discovered in a Hollywood tow yard on September 8th, was identified by the Los Angeles Police Department on September 17th. D4vd’s planned concert later that evening at The Showbox in Seattle was then cancelled.

His US tour was set to hit The Warfield in San Francisco on September 19th as well as The Greek Theater in Los Angeles on September 20th, as well as The Grammy Museum on September 24th. However, these shows have been cancelled, according to Variety.

Additionally, a planned deluxe edition of his debut album, Withered, was due to be released on September 19th, but has not appeared on streaming platforms.

According to TMZ, Interscope Records have paused all promotional activities related to D4vd amid the ongoing police investigation into Rivas’ death.

Police made the discovery of human remains after being alerted to a “foul odour coming from an impounded vehicle”, which was later confirmed to belong to D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke.

A report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner earlier this week said the victim was around 5 feet 2 inches, had wavy black hair, weighed 72 pounds, and a tattoo on her right index finger which read, “Shhh…” It has also been reported by TMZ that D4vd also has a “Shhh…” tattoo on his right index finger, which was popularised by Rihanna.

Her body was described by authorities as “severely decomposed”. They also said she had likely been “inside the vehicle for an extended period of time before being found”.

Following the discovery of human remains in the vehicle, a spokesperson for the singer told NBC News that Burke “has been informed about what’s happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities”.

While D4vd’s remaining US dates have been cancelled, as it stands, his European tour, set to begin on Oslo on October 1st, is still listed on his website.

No suspect has been named by the Los Angeles Police Department.
