D4vd “fully cooperating” with authorities after body found in Tesla registered in his name
Singer D4vd is said to be “fully cooperating” with authorities after a dead body was found in a Tesla registered in his name in Los Angeles.
The Tesla had been impounded at a tow yard in Hollywood for several days before the Los Angeles Police Department made the discovery after reports of a “foul odour coming from an impounded vehicle” on September 8th.
The Los Angeles Police Department found human remains in the front trunk of the vehicle, which is registered in Hempstead, Texas, to David Anthony Burke, better known by his stage name D4vd.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office couldn’t immediately determine the gender of the body at the scene due to decomposition, but it has since been confirmed to be a woman, according to the Los Angeles Times.
D4vd is currently on tour in the US and played a show in Minneapolis on September 9th. In a statement provided to NBC News, a spokesperson for the singer said he “has been informed about what’s happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities”.
Additionally, another female body was found in a car at a different tow yard in South Los Angeles on September 9th, which is located seven miles south of the other tow yard in Hollywood. This incident is related to a missing person investigation and is considered by the Los Angeles Police Department to be a separate case.
Police spokesperson Jennifer Forkish said of the two incidents: “At this point in the investigation there is no known connection between the two cases.”
Burke, who boasts more than 33 million monthly unique listeners on Spotify, has been on tour across North America for the last two months. He is due to visit Portland, Salt Lake City, Denver and Seattle before the run concludes on September 20th at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.
