D4vd cancels show in Seattle after teenage girl found in his Tesla named as Celeste Rivas
Singer D4vd cancelled a performance in Seattle on September 17th after authorities identified the teenage girl whose dead body was found in an abandoned Tesla in Los Angeles registered in his name.
Police officers named the girl as 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, who was registered as a missing person in April 2024 when she was only 13. Rivas was from the Lake Elsinore region of California. Officers are yet to determine how Rivas died or when her death took place.
Following this announcement from authorities, TMZ first reported that his show at The Showbox in Seattle would no longer go ahead on September 17th. His US tour is set to conclude on September 20th at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles.
On September 8th, the Los Angeles Police Department made the discovery of human remains in an impounded Tesla in a Hollywood tow yard after reports of a “foul odour coming from an impounded vehicle”. It later emerged that the vehicle is registered to David Anthony Burke, better known as D4vd.
A report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner earlier this week said the victim was around 5 feet 2 inches, had wavy black hair, weighed 72 pounds, and a tattoo on her right index finger which read, “Shhh…”
It has also been reported by TMZ that D4vd also has a “Shhh…” tattoo on his right index finger, which was popularised by Rihanna.
Her body was also described by authorities as “severely decomposed”. They also said she had likely been “inside the vehicle for an extended period of time before being found”.
Following the discovery of human remains in the vehicle, a spokesperson for the singer told NBC News that Burke “has been informed about what’s happened, and although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities”.
The Los Angeles Police Department are yet to name a suspect.
