HBO Max reveal multi-tiered and advert-supported subscription prices ahead of UK launch

HBO Max has unveiled its new pricing plan, ahead of its launch in the UK next month.

The streaming service revealed plans for the launch of the platform in the UK on February 9th, with the first official day of audiences being able to watch being set for March 26th.

Additionally, the company has revealed its pricing plan for the streaming service, with costs ranging from £4.99 all the way up to £30.99 per month.

The tiered scale of pricing plans is in common use among all current streaming services, but with premium fees for Netflix and Disney+ currently set at £18.99 a month and £14.99 a month, respectively, the HBO Max service is seen as a marked increase.

It is also notable that the first two price points on the HBO Max scale, costing £4.99 a month and £5.99 a month, provide the service but with adverts included, with the latter also giving access to downloadable content.

Thereafter, customers will have to pay £9.99 for no adverts, £14.99 to see their content in 4K, and a maximum of £30.99 if they wish to include the streamer’s TNT Sports package in their deal.

The UK is one of the final countries in the world to receive a rollout of HBO Max, owing to the fact that the network has a deal in place with Sky to show certain titles within its content output.

That deal will remain in place when it comes to the broadcast of shows like Euphoria in the country, but the streamer has emphasised that the new service will be the only place to watch the full back catalogue of programmes created by HBO.

This includes the likes of The White Lotus, which is currently filming its fourth series, and the TV remake of the Harry Potter series, being shot at Leavesden Studios in Watford and set to be launched next year.
