Explosive new trailer for ‘Euphoria’ season three unveiled

Four years since season two of the hit teen drama, Euphoria, aired, the official trailer for the third and final season has finally been unveiled.

“A few years after high school, I don’t know if life was exactly what I wished,” Zendaya’s character, Rue, admits candidly at the beginning of the trailer, as a montage provides evidence of her continued drug career. There has been a five-year jump from the second season, which accounts for the long delays between filming.

“But somehow, for the first time, I was beginning to have faith,” She confesses, sitting in the middle of a church pew. However, things take a turn for the worse when an old debt catches up to her, and she’s thrown into the slippery heart of drug cartels in Mexico.

Cassie and Nate, played by Sydney Sweeney and Frankenstein actor Jacob Elordi, are engaged and, as promised by series creator Sam Levinson, appear to be gearing up for an “unforgettable” wedding.

Elordi’s character is frustrated after watching his fiancée “making content” for OnlyFans. “I work all day, and my bride-to-be is spreadeagled on the internet,” he exclaims in the trailer.

Viewers see a small clip of Jules, played by Hunter Schafer, who is “very nervous about having a career as a painter and trying to avoid responsibility at all costs.” Additionally, Alexa Demie’s character, Maddy, can be seen working at a Hollywood talent agency, flippantly revealing that every girl she knows does “the sugar baby thing.”

Maude Apatow’s character, Lexi, is working as an assistant to a showrunner played by Sharon Stone, while Ali, played by Colman Domingo, is still trying to have faith in Rue. The Union star Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje newly stars as a ruthless drug lord.

Other newcomers will include Rosalía, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, Eli Roth, Marshawn Lynch, and Trisha Paytas.

Some familiar faces won’t be returning. Storm Reid revealed in November 2024 that her character, Rue’s sister Gia, would not be featured in the new season. Barbie Ferreira, who played Kat, left the series in August 2022 over creative differences.

Tragically, Angus Cloud passed away in 2023, though his character, Fezco, was said to have a huge role in the final season.

With darkness stewing on the horizon, Rue admits, “You make a deal with the Devil, and there’s no turning back.”

Euphoria will air on HBO Max on April 12th. Watch the new trailer below.
