Hayley Williams reveals plan to clamp down on ticket touts for tour: “We’re doing our best”
Hayley Williams has confirmed details of her 2026 world tour and revealed how she hopes to combat touting.
On November 7th, the Paramore vocalist leaked her own tour dates on her website, which she has now officially announced. Her tour will begin in March in Atlanta, visiting US cities including Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Nashville, Austin, Oakland, and Los Angeles.
Williams will head to Europe for June dates in Milan, Amsterdam, Cologne, Berlin, and Copenhagen. She will headline London’s Roundhouse on June 19th, Manchester Academy on June 22nd, before taking to Glasgow and concluding her tour with a date at Dublin’s National Stadium.
Fans interested in attending the tour dates will need to register for pre-sale within a 24-hour window of the official announcement on November 10th. In an effort to stop bots from purchasing tickets and then selling them on secondary sites, fans will need to validate a phone number and an email address to prove they are human in order to access a ticket unlock code.
In a lengthy address to fans, Williams explained of the process, “It feels like the right time to let you know… I’m going on tour. And I want to get tickets into the hands of my fans, at a price that is as reasonable as I could get.”
She continued, “I’ve had countless conversations with my team, and they’ve spent countless hours trying to find the best solution for fans to be able to buy tickets. It’s been tough (to say the least), and unfortunately, there’s no way to guarantee that zero tickets get scalped. But we’re doing our best.”
Williams then explained how she hopes that partnering with Openstage will ensure genuine fans get tickets, adding, “In short, I’m trying out a platform called Openstage to host a verified presale registration. Openstage’s fan validation system helps verify human fans and reduce bots and scalpers, giving my fans a better chance to access tickets.”
The ‘Parachute’ singer clarified, “It’s important to note that receiving a code does not guarantee you will be able to buy tickets – they will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.”
She also stated that “it’s a broken and convoluted system”, before noting, “My team and I are doing everything we can, and I am hopeful that the processes we’ve put into place will get as many tickets into the hands of my fans (at face value) as possible.”
Williams concluded, “I can’t wait to be back on the road and see all of your faces. We’ll dance, scream and cry together.”
The tour announcement comes days after Williams secured four Grammy nominations thanks to her recent album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.
