Hayley Williams outlines “hard line” for new shows: “You’re not welcome!”

Hayley Williams has outlined a hard and fast rule she has for her 2026 solo shows.

The Paramore vocalist recently announced, and then extended, her first-ever solo tour, which will see her take on North America, Europe, and the UK.

In a new conversation with Clash magazine, the artist reflected on what she might do differently with her solo shows. Looking back on the community Paramore fostered, Williams shared, “It’s so important that people feel welcome to the party.”

She continued, “I’ve always said, all are welcome at our shows. But I don’t want racists around, and I don’t want sexist people around, and I don’t want people there who think that trans people are a burden.”

Reflectively, she added, “I think that’s a hard line for me now. I hope it naturally happens that people who do harbour those harmful ideologies aren’t going to feel welcome, because they’re going to walk in the door and realise that the gang’s all here, all banded together around something positive.”

And so Williams called out to provisional concert goers, sharing, “All are welcome if you believe all should be welcome… If you don’t believe that, you’re not welcome!”

Williams’ solo tour sold out within hours. To ensure a smooth process, the singer partnered with Openstage to prevent ticket touting.

In a lengthy address to fans, Williams explained the process, sharing, “I’ve had countless conversations with my team, and they’ve spent countless hours trying to find the best solution for fans to be able to buy tickets. It’s been tough (to say the least), and unfortunately, there’s no way to guarantee that zero tickets get scalped. But we’re doing our best.”

Williams recently secured four Grammy nominations for her latest album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, which followed 2020’s Petals for Armor and 2021’s Flowers for Vases. Far Out deemed Williams’ new offering “an incredible hour-long project overflowing with unique lyricism and boundless energy.”
