Hayley Williams announces new band, Power Snatch, with three new singles

Hayley Williams and close collaborator Daniel James have hard-launched their new band, titled Power Snatch, on a joint show for Apple Music 1.

The pair recently collaborated on Williams’ third studio release, Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, which James helped co-write and produce.

While appearing together on Apple Music 1, the duo officially premiered a track called ‘Assignment’, under the banner of Power Snatch. The track opens with rugged guitar chords, atop which Williams narrates a dream she once had.

It appears that an Instagram page was active for the group as far back as July 19th, 2025, when a second unreleased track was shared via video format. This song soundtracks a video of the 1969 film, The Color Of Pomegranates.

There is also a third track available online via Bandcamp, titled ‘DMs’. The lethargic, off-putting, shoegaze-inflected track begins with Williams singing, “Where should I keep this memory? That version of me. She was real, but she was weak, weak in the knees.”

In October last year, in an interview with Rolling Stone, Williams shared, “I want to be in 100 bands before I die. That’s more the speed I work best in”. She appears to be doing just that.

She also clarified that Paramore, who released their last album, This Is Why, in 2023, is currently on a hiatus. “Paramore will always have its time because it’s just what we do. We cycle back in and out of it,” she revealed.

Williams recently secured four Grammy nominations for her latest album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, which followed 2020’s Petals for Armor and 2021’s Flowers for Vases. Far Out deemed Williams’ new offering “an incredible hour-long project overflowing with unique lyricism and boundless energy.”

The ‘Misery Business’ singer is set to embark on a huge solo tour this year, so it is unlikely that Power Snatch will enjoy any live shows for the foreseeable future.

The new Power Snatch songs are yet to be made available through official streaming platforms.
