Hayley Williams and Moses Sumney release collaborative track ‘I Like It I Like It’

After teasing their collaboration in an Instagram video, Hayley Williams and Moses Sumney have released their new single, ‘I Like It I Like It’.

The song was co-produced by Sumney himself, who had previously spoken about his admiration for the Paramore frontwoman. He said: “Hayley Williams and Paramore underscored a large part of my anxious youth, so when I was writing this song about having an angsty crush on someone, I knew there would be no better person to sing it with than the queen of yearning… I’m glad we get to get soulful together.”

‘I Like It I Like It’ is written from the perspective of a person obsessed with a potential lover and trying to play it cool. We hear Williams’ infamously impressive vocals swim through lyrics of desire, like “keep it to me/cuz honesty/is a boner killer/streets say the long game is the wrong game/but I never pursue it/so I play it like I’m foolish.”

The two musicians can also be seen donning light blonde hair, or in Moses’ case, a wig, as a nod to Williams’ hair dye business, Good Dye Young.

Though Paramore are seemingly taking some well-earned time off after their epic adventure supporting Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, Williams has been providing her vocals to other friends in the industry. She recently collaborated with Turnstile on ‘Seein’ Stars‘, and joined Deftones onstage in Nashville for a performance of ‘Minerva’.

After releasing two solo albums, Petals for Armor in 2020 and Flowers for Vases / Descansos in 2021, the ‘Misery Business’ vocalist hinted at playing some 2025 solo shows earlier this year. She said on social media: “I’m going to try and finally play some shows next year that would’ve happened nearly 5 years ago now. That is, if the world doesn’t fucking stop before then. Here’s hoping.”

No dates have been announced by Williams so far.
