Hayley Williams extends first solo tour due to demand
Hayley Williams has extended her first-ever solo tour due to overwhelming ticket demand.
On November 7th, the Paramore vocalist leaked her own tour dates on her website, which she has now officially announced. The North American segment of the tour will begin in March in Atlanta, visiting US cities including Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Nashville, Austin, Oakland, and Los Angeles.
Williams has since added extra dates in Atlanta and Toronto, as well as a third date in New York and Los Angeles. The ‘Showbiz’ vocalist also added a new date in Silver Spring, as well as extra dates in her hometown, Nashville, Minneapolis, and Oakland.
After this, Williams will take a short break before heading over to Europe, where she will play in cities such as Milan, Amsterdam, Cologne, Berlin, and Copenhagen. She has since added a new date in Cologne on June 11th.
Williams lands in the UK on June 19th, where she will now play not one but two dates at the Roundhouse, with extra support from Tiberius B. She will move on to Manchester to play two nights at the Academy, after which she will perform for two nights in Glasgow and finish with two nights at Dublin’s National Stadium.
The Paramore vocalist, who will be touring with Water From Your Eyes, has partnered with Openstage to prevent ticket touting.
In a lengthy address to fans, Williams explained the process, sharing, “I’ve had countless conversations with my team, and they’ve spent countless hours trying to find the best solution for fans to be able to buy tickets. It’s been tough (to say the least), and unfortunately, there’s no way to guarantee that zero tickets get scalped. But we’re doing our best.”
She also stated that “it’s a broken and convoluted system”, before noting, “My team and I are doing everything we can, and I am hopeful that the processes we’ve put into place will get as many tickets into the hands of my fans (at face value) as possible.”
Reflecting on the updated dates in a new post, Williams told fans, “If you’ve already signed up for a show in or near these cities, you do not need to sign up again. Your code will work for the added shows (including the two Maryland dates).”
She also extended the presale registration to account for the added dates. The tour announcement comes days after Williams secured four Grammy nominations for her recent album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party.
