Grammys 2026: Jack Antonoff makes history with new nominations
Following the announcement of the nominations for the 68th annual Grammy Awards, producer Jack Antonoff has made history.
Each year, music fans rally behind their favourite artists to earn the accolade of a nomination in one of the award show’s biggest categories, which are ‘Album of the Year’, ‘Record of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’. These three sit at the head of the table as the leading categories that always feel like the biggest honour for artists.
This year, Antonoff has made history by being the first ever producer/songwriter to earn nominations in all three major categories, with two artists. Leaving him with a high chance of sweeping wins at the award show in 2026, his work heavily populated the nominees.
In the category of ‘Album of the Year’, he worked on Kendrick Lamar’s GNX and Sabrina Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend. In the nominations for ‘Record of the Year’, he worked on both Lamar’s ‘Luther’ and Carpenter’s ‘Manchild’, both of which are also nominated in the category of ‘Song of the Year’.
Antonoff is the first songwriter/producer in history to be nominated in these three major categories for work with two different artists at a single Grammys.
Carpenter’s Man’s Best Friend is also nominated for ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’. Meanwhile, Lamar has honours elsewhere too, including ‘Best Rap Song’ for ‘TV Off’ with Antonoff’s production, and his album GNX is on the nominees list for ‘Best Rap Album’.
The producer’s broad impact over modern music has been evident for a long time now. Antonoff is already an 11-time Grammy winner and has been nominated 29 times over his career. These new nominations mark the third and forth time he’d been nominated in all three major categories for his work.
