Glastonbury 2025: Skepta confirmed to replace Deftones on Pyramid Stage

Following the announcement that Deftones have pulled out of their Saturday night performance on the Other Stage at Glastonbury Festival, the organisers has announced that revered grime star Skepta will be replacing the US rock band.

After rumours had circulated on the festival site that Deftones were no longer able to play, an official announcement has now been made as to the reasons for their cancellation.

“In an unfortunate development, an illness in the band is going to prevent us from playing Glastonbury tonight,” a statement read.

“We’re devastated to be missing out on something we’ve been looking forward to for months,” it continued, “But sometimes circumstances out of our control interfere with things we want to do the most. We really hope to return to Glastonbury soon, and as it currently stands, we plan on seeing you tomorrow at Crystal Palace.”

In a post to social media, the festival announced: “Skepta will kindly step in, taking the stage at 9pm. He says: ‘Let’s go!!! No crew, no production but am ready to shut Glastonbury down. Victory lap time. Pre-Big Smoke 2025!’”

They also noted that this means there will be a scheduling change to Ezra Collective’s set, with the UK jazz act now set to play from 7pm until 8:15pm.

Indie trio Haim have also been confirmed as the secret slot on the Park Stage this evening, with their set scheduled to take place at 7:30pm. Meanwhile, there has yet to be an official announcement as to who the elusive Patchwork are, who are due to play on the Pyramid Stage at 6:15pm.

Deftones are still scheduled to perform their set at Crystal Palace later this weekend alongside Weezer.
