‘Fleabag’ co-stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Olivia Coleman join forces to cover Portishead
The co-stars of one of the break-out TV series of the year, Fleabag have reunited to perform a special cover of Portishead’s ‘Glory Box’ for charity. You can watch the footage of Olivia Coleman and Phoebe Waller-Bridge below.
The pair took to the Abbey Road Studios to cover the Portishead track, taken from their 1994 album Dummy with Coleman leading on vocals with Waller-Bridge and her sister providing ample ukelele back-up.
In the clip which was shared on Halloween night sees Waller-Bridge say: “I first knew that Olivia could sing at karaoke because she’s one of those dark horses that is just sort of like, ‘Oh, I don’t really, I don’t really,’ but then she does and she brings it and just burns the place down.”
The cover was all in the name of charity and will appear on the BBC’s Got It Covered charity albums for this year’s Children In Need.
The album will also feature Doctor Who’s Jodie Whittaker covering ‘Yellow’ by Coldplay, Yesterday’s Himesh Patel takes on ‘All These Things That I’ve Done’ by The Killers and Jim Broadbent covers the classic ‘Blue Moon’.
There will also be spots on the record for Helena Bonham Carter, David Tennant, Shaun Dooley, Suranne Jones, Adrian Lester and more.
