Olivia Coleman to be honoured at the Palm Springs Film Festival for ‘The Favourite’ performance

Olivia Coleman is set to receive the ‘Desert Palm Achievement Award’ by the Palm Springs International Film Festival for her performance in Yorgos Lanthimos’ newest film The Favourite.

The award, which will be presented by Coleman’s co-star Emma Stone at the festival’s awards gala, will take place on January 3rd at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

“In ‘The Favourite’ Olivia Colman steals the show as a frail and aloof Queen Anne, whose attention is being sought by two scheming cousins,” said festival chairman Harold Matzner in a press release. “For this superb performance, that has received much critical acclaim and awards recognition, it is our honour to present the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress to Olivia Colman.”

Coleman follows in the footsteps of previous winners Sandra Bullock, Marion Cotillard, Halle Berry, Cate Blanchett and more.
