Dolly Parton shares touching Thanksgiving message amid health struggles
Dolly Parton has uploaded a heartfelt Thanksgiving message to her social media amid ongoing health struggles.
On November 27th, the singer-songwriter shared a short message to her 8.2 million Instagram followers. She began: “Well, hey! It’s Dolly here.”
She added, “I want to wish all of you and your family blessings this Thanksgiving.”
The ‘Jolene’ singer then shared her gratitude, stating, “I am so thankful for all of you and for the memories that we’ve shared through the years.”
She closed out by referring to the lyrics of here 1973 hit, ‘I Will Always Love You’, sharing, “So happy Thanksgiving to everyone, and just know that I will always love you.”
The message comes after a moment of panic in October, when Parton’s sister, Freida, took to Facebook to share her worry for her older sister. She wrote, “Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”
A month before this, Parton had announced that she had been forced to postpone a string of upcoming Las Vegas shows after dealing “with some health challenges.”
However, it was quickly confirmed that the beloved country star was suffering from kidney stones and was not in a precariously ill position.
At that time, she followed up with a video from the set of a commercial she was shooting, sharing, “I know lately everybody thinks that I am sicker than I am,” she said. “Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here.”
Earlier this year, Parton took some time away from the limelight to mourn the passing of her husband, Carl Dean, who passed away at the age of 82 in March.
