Dolly Parton confirmed to be suffering from kidney stones
Dolly Parton is suffering from kidney stones, her team has confirmed, after her sister encouraged fans to pray for the singer’s health.
On October 7th, Dolly’s sister, Freida, took to Facebook to share her worry for her older sister. In the original post, she wrote, “Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately. I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been lead [sic] to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me.”
As it wasn’t revealed what exactly was ailing the star, fans began to panic. In response, Freida took to Facebook once more to clear the air. She wrote, “I want to clear something up. I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly.”
She continued diligently, “She’s been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer. It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference.”
Now, the Las Vegas Review-Journal has confirmed that the singer is in good health. She is waiting for a procedure to address kidney stones. The 79-year-old singer-songwriter is also set to record a music video on October 8th, her representative added.
This isn’t the first time Dolly’s health has come into question. She postponed her Las Vegas residency, set for December of this year, due to “health challenges.” In a statement at the time, the ‘Jolene’ singer said, “My doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”
Despite her current ailment and the death of her husband Carl earlier this year, Dolly has been adamant that she will not quit the industry.
