Djo announces new album ‘The Crux’

Djo, the musical project of Stranger Things and Fargo actor Joe Keery, has announced details of his second album, The Crux.

Keery’s forthcoming record is set to arrive on April 4th, and to tease the project, he has shared the new single, ‘Basic Being Basic’, which he describes as being kind of a shot fired to anyone who’s trying to be of the moment.”

The electronic track represents the first music released by Keery since his hit track, ‘The End of the Beginning‘, became unexpectedly popular at the beginning of last year, peaking in the top five of the chart in the United Kingdom two years after its release.

The belated success of ‘The End of the Beginning’ led to renewed interest in Keery’s musical project, and he’s now finally ready to release his second album. The Crux was recorded at the legendary Electric Lady Studios in New York, co-produced by Keery and his longtime collaborator Adam Thein.

Additionally, The Crux is depicted as a physical hotel on the cover art and acts as a transient location that characters pass through over the course of the record.

Keery is also set to take The Crux on the road, including an extensive run of dates throughout Europe and the United Kingdom which begins in Dublin on June 1st. While on the continent, Djo will visit cities such as London, Manchester, Glasgow, Copenhagen, Berlin, Oslo, Warsaw, Paris and Amsterdam.

2025 is set to be a busy festival season for Djo, too. Notably, he’ll be taking The Crux to Coachella in April, as well as spots in Europe such as Best Kept Secret in the Netherlands and Southside Festival in Germany.
