D4vd identified as suspect by police in Celeste Rivas death investigation

Singer D4vd has reportedly been identified as a suspect by police in their investigation into the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas, whose body was found in his Tesla.

Rivas’ decomposing body was discovered in a Hollywood tow yard on September 8th, and later identified by the Los Angeles Police Department on September 17th. D4vd, real name David Anthony Burke, subsequently cancelled all of his future shows.

Now, ABC News have stated that Burke is considered a suspect in the ongoing investigation that is being conducted by the Los Angeles Police.

No arrests have so far been made in connection to the death of Rivas.

The Los Angeles Police Department has yet to determine the cause and manner of death for the teenager, whose body was found dismembered in the vehicle. According to ABC News, investigators believe they are close to establishing a cause of death, which will then lead to them carrying out arrests and charges on potential suspects.

NBC 4 Investigates reports that a source close to the investigation told them that Rivas may have died in the spring, and that the person responsible likely had help with dismembering and disposing of her body. They also allege that the same source informed them that Burke has not been cooperative with the investigation.

On September 8th, police were alerted to her remains after receiving a call regarding a “foul odour coming from an impounded vehicle” in a tow yard in Hollywood, which was later found to belong to Burke.

Rivas, who had been reported missing by her family in 2024, had not been seen publicly for over a year. Her mother has shared that she was aware that Rivas had a boyfriend called David at the time of her disappearance. Rivas and Burke also had matching “Shhh…” tattoos on their right index fingers.

Additionally, her brother previously told NBC Los Angeles that he was aware she knew Burke and claimed that she was on her way to see a movie with the singer before her disappearance.

Burke has not commented publicly on the case.
