Cyndi Lauper calls out heckler at opening night of Las Vegas residency
Cyndi Lauper had a stern message for one fan in attendance at the opening night of her Las Vegas residency who wouldn’t just let a girl have fun.
The iconic star is headlining The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas over a five-night run. On the opening night, an expletive-filled statement from the performer became the talk of the evening.
As per Billboard, the star was allegedly interrupted before she launched into the tune ‘Sally’s Pigeons’ from the 1993 album Hat Full of Stars.
Lauper wanted to share a personal tidbit with the crowd about the track they were about to hear, but something loud and distracting was shouted at her, throwing her off course.
“I don’t know what the fuck you’re saying, hun,” Lauper began, addressing the heckler, “But please remember where you are, okay?”
She continued, “Because if you’re trying to shade me, bitch, I’m gonna come for you. I’m from Brooklyn, and if I wanna fucking talk, I will do a tap dance if I fucking want. Sorry, that of course is not part of my people skills.”
As evidenced in her fiery statement, Lauper is used to commanding a stage. Her new residency marks a divergence from her last Girls Just Want to Have Fun farewell tour, which wound up in August 2025 after a phenomenal 69-date run.
In the announcement for her current residency, Lauper shared with fans, “Vegas will become ‘Cyn City’ next spring, when I bring my Girls Just Wanna Have Fun show to town for this special run, an opportunity for fans who missed my Farewell Tour to celebrate one last time.”
Lauper was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year on November 8th. At the illustrious ceremony, she was joined by fellow fresh inductees such as Joe Cocker, Outkast, Soundgarden, and The White Stripes.
