“Cool old lady” Courtney Love pledges allegiance to Geese cult with ‘Au Pays Du Cocaine’ cover

After sharing that she was “Geese-curious”, Courtney Love has officially pledged allegiance to the Geese cult with her own cover of their emotional ballad, ‘Au Pays Du Cocaine’.

Previously, the Hole singer has had plenty to say on the rise in popularity of the alt-rock Brooklyn four-piece, who found themselves recently on the bizarre end of an alleged psy-op allegation for using digital marketing.

In a similar vein, Love previously called Geese fans “gatekeeping elder millennial trolls,” before adding, “I feel like it’s 1990 and I’m trying to impress Sonic Youth again, which is great. I don’t know. I’m a cool old lady who likes a band, get off my back.”

Now, a short clip on Instagram shows “cool old lady” Love, cosied up on a couch, offering her vocals to the chorus of the emotional song, while Baby Queen strums along on the acoustic guitar.

Love sings about the “sailor in a big green boat” at the heart of frontman Cameron Winter’s mystical lyricism.

Previously, Love praised the 24-year-old, adding that he “sounds like a 600-year-old man in the best way”. She also stated that Winter is a “fucking, seriously good lyricist”.

Following these comments, Love made an appearance at the band’s Eventim Apollo show in London, which was part of their recent tour in support of their latest album, Getting Killed.

The ‘Bow Down’ musicians will next appear at Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, before performing at The Governors Ball Music Festival in New York on June 12th. From there, their summer is jam-packed with festivals following in the mighty footsteps of their Coachella performances.

In a review of their show in Bristol, Far Out wrote, “While the tension was at fever pitch, ready to pop with the imagined suitable opening of ‘Trinidad’ or ‘Getting Killed’, the engine actually started ominously ticking with ‘Husbands’. It was unexpected, but by the time the chorus arrived, one of the most soulful sing-alongs of my recent memory erupted.”
