Brad Pitt and George Clooney are set to make ‘Ocean’s 14’

George Clooney and Brad Pitt are set to return for Oceans 14, a long-awaited return to the action movie franchise that began in 2001.

It’s been a while since the world got to dive into the cinematic universe of the Ocean’s franchise. The last film in the series was Ocean’s 8, a spin-off in which the original characters were replaced by an all-female cast, reinvigorating the movies with a fresh dose of originality and box office success.

The original cast hasn’t come together since 2007 for Ocean’s 13, the third sequel to the original 2001 Ocean’s 11, which Steven Soderbergh directed. It featured George Clooney and Brad Pitt back in their beloved roles as Danny Ocean and Rusty Ryan. However, That film was declared at the time to be the final instalment of the trilogy.

But it seems like the series is prepping to reboot. Deadline reported that Warner Bros is in talks with Edward Berger, the director of All Quiet on the Western Front, to lead the blockbuster sequel. It has also been reported that Clooney and Pitt are on board to revive their roles in a new movie.

It’s important to stress though that these conversations regarding a possible new sequel are still at the very beginning stages. In their report, Deadline emphasised that the development is still in it’s infancy.

Yet if it does make it across the starting line, more of the original cast are expected to return. There are reports that Matt Damon and Casey Affleck are also on board to return at Linus Caldwell and Virgil Malloy.

The new project in the Ocean’s series, following the 2018 all-female flick, was originally supposed to be a prequel. Set in 1960s Europe, the film was going to incorporate elements of the original movies while still standing on its own, acting as a nice addition to the cinematic world without reviving the original cast. Instead, Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling were set to star, but production stalled out as of last year.

However, it seems sights have been set on a complete return, bringing back the original cast to dive back into the world of the movies. Only time will tell if this film makes it to set, unlike its failed predecessor, but fans everywhere will be hoping it does.
