Bodyguard at the heart of the Chappell Roan and Jorginho controversy takes “full responsibility” for upsetting child

The bodyguard involved in the situation between Chappell Roan and Jorghino’s step-daughter has broken his silence on the matter and taken “full responsibility” after confirming that he was not working directly for the pop star.

Social media set ablaze with criticism toward Roan after Jorghino called out an incident that happened before Roan’s set at Lollapalooza Brazil, when a security guard acted aggressively towards his 11-year-old step-daughter after she attempted to get a glimpse of the star.

Roan addressed the incident on social media, denying that the orders came from her: “I did not ask the security guard to go up and talk to this mother and child,” she shared, before admitting the pair “did not deserve” the unkind treatment.

Now, the security guard at the heart of the situation, Pascal Duvier, has also taken to Instagram to share his side of the story. He began the tell-all post stating, “I do not normally address online rumors, but the accusations currently circulating are false and constitute defamation.”

The post went on, “I take full responsibility for the interactions on March 21st. I was at the hotel on behalf of another individual, and I was not part of the personal security team of Chappell Roan.”

Duvier continued, “The actions I took were not on behalf of Chappell Roan, her personal security team, her management, or any other individuals.”

Duvier said that he “made a judgment call” based on information obtained from the hotel, events he had witnessed in the days prior, and the heightened security risk of the location.

He concluded the statement, “My sole interaction with the mother was calm and with good intentions, and the outcome of the encounter is regretful.” Users of the platform are unable to comment on the post.

Jorghino’s wife and the mother of the young girl, Catherine Harding, had also weighed in and given her side of the events in a social media video, where she also addressed the question of whom the security guard worked for, “Did she send him to do it? Again, I don’t know,” she said.

Harding went on, “Look, I would like to hope not, but at the same time, I think that you have a responsibility when you are a celebrity to make sure, I guess, that the people who work for you and act on your behalf are acting on your behalf.”
