Bleachers are full of life on new single ‘Tiny Moves’

Bleachers - 'Tiny Moves'
4

Did anyone expect anything less? When the dictator of modern pop, Jack Antonoff, made a return to releasing his own music in his band Bleachers, it was always going to be triumphant. Their newest track, ‘Tiny Moves’, is just the next golden step.

The three songs released in the run up to their upcoming self-titled album have set a solid standard. With its cheeky lyrics, fun horn details and full band breakdowns, ‘Modern Girl’ sounded like a master getting his mates together for a laugh and almost inadvertently creating something spectacular. Even on ‘Alma Mater’, a more intricate and haunting track that features vocals from Lana Del Rey, it didn’t feel too overthought.

Now on ‘Tiny Moves’, the quality is upheld with the same ease. An indie pop song in the best and grandest sense of the word, it’s instantly catchy, indulgently fun and, as with all of Antonoff’s work, perfectly composed.

While some have began to groan over Antonoff’s monopoly on modern pop, time and time again he proves himself, like a silencing statement that the producer does dominate indie pop but only because he’s brilliant, ‘Tiny Moves’ is another tap-in.

Building their own sonic world, the new Bleachers songs so far have a clear identity as Antanoff draws on all the inspirations that have always served him. ‘Tiny Moves’ is a totally effortless yet buzzing love song, with the ingredients to potentially become timeless.

It’s full of life from the very first second, truly packed full of love and joy. Best enjoyed while watching the music video as Antonoff’s wife, actress Margaret Qualley, brings the track to life with a dance routine to summarise all the feelings held within.

Watch the video for ‘Tiny Moves’ below, it might just warm you in this bleak midwinter.
