All four The Beatles biopics “are totally different”, actor confirms
A new update has been provided on Sam Mendes’ highly anticipated biopics, The Beatles — A Four-Film Cinematic Event.
The upcoming set of movies, which are set to be released simultaneously in April 2028, will star Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon.
While they have been in production for many months now, the project still remains shrouded in immense mystery, especially relating to the four-film aspect of the series of biopics.
Each film will focus on a member of The Beatles, but now it has emerged that it won’t simply be the same story told through the lens of a different protagonist.
Adam Pally, who is playing the Fab Four’s former manager Allen Klein, shed some light on the project to The Direct in a new interview, explaining, “I will try to answer in the most allowed way possible, but I would say that they are totally different.”
Pally elaborated, “The way The Beatles were individually, totally different, and the movies reflect each Beatles’ tone, in a way.”
He also suggested that they can be enjoyed as stand-alone movies, adding, “They all go together beautifully, and then they also are all individually perfect in that way, you know.”
The biopics were recently the centre of scrutiny after Pattie Boyd, who was married to George Harrison, hit out at the producers for not contacting her for research purposes.
Boyd, who will be portrayed by Aimee Lou Wood in the films, said, “I thought it would be polite to mention it to me, or let me know if they’ve got someone who is going to be playing me.”
She also accused those making the film of wanting “to create something that’s completely different…a different story” which could have “nothing to do with the truth of what happened”, claiming it’s “because they didn’t want to talk to anyone who was there.”
