Zach Bryan breaks record for largest ticketed concert in the US
Zach Bryan is a new record holder after he headlined the highest-attended ticketed concert in America.
The beloved country star took to Michigan Stadium, also known as the Big House, in Ann Arbor, the Western Hemisphere’s largest stadium. The space is typically only used for the University of Michigan football. It was the second concert ever held at the stadium, as well as its only ticketed event in the venue’s 98-year-long history.
There, Bryan brought in a record-breaking crowd of over 112,000 spectators. He played an incredible 27-song set and brought out several guests, such as his opener John Mayer, as well as Michigan’s own the War And Treaty. The original record was held by George Strait, who had 110,905 fans attend a previous show.
On the historic night, his entrance was preceded by ‘Mr. Brightside’, the recognisable smash hit by The Killers. “I’m going to remember this forever, Michigan,” Bryan told the colossal crowd, who were happy to sing his hits back to him. “Thank you.”
The star also recently joined Matthew McConaughey onstage for an acoustic performance during the How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days actor’s ongoing book tour.
This record-breaking evening comes not two weeks after a public confrontation between the singer and fellow musician Gavin Adcock. Bryan and Adcock have been publicly feuding after Adcock took to Rolling Stone’s Nashville Now podcast to call out Bryan’s character. He stated, “I don’t know if Zach Bryan’s really that great of a person.”
In the video, of the altercation, Bryan runs over to the fence and appears to shout, “If they open up this fucking gate I will fucking kill you,” before climbing the fence. Adcock can be heard responding, “Come on over here and meet me with a word of hell, buddy,” to which Bryan shouts, “fuck you”.
