Yusuf / Cat Stevens’ book tour in the US postponed following visa issues

Yusuf / Cat Stevens’ planned tour of the US in support of his new book has been postponed, owing to ongoing visa issues.

The singer made the announcement on September 29th, explaining that his run of shows in North America would need to be pushed back to a later date. He had been due to begin his tour on October 2nd in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and conclude it on October 21st in Los Angeles, California.

Revealing the unfortunate news in a statement, he said: Sadly, my Cat on the Road to Findout book tour in the US looks like it won’t go ahead as scheduled in October. Waiting months for visa approvals, we held out as long as we could. However, at this point, the production logistics necessary for my show cannot be arranged in time.”

Noting that he is “really upset”, especially for “my fans who have bought tickets and made travel plans to see me perform,” Stevens said that plans for the tour would be put back in motion if visa requirements were granted to him in time.

“North American audiences may still get a chance to see the tour if visa approvals eventually come through,” he explained. “Those dates would be some time away because of other travel tour plans but, hopefully, fans will be able to hop on the Peace Train route at some time in the future.”

The singer has just concluded his book tour in the UK, where he visited cities across the UK and Ireland, including Birmingham, Manchester, London, Dublin, and Glasgow for the first time in nine years, supporting his forthcoming memoir Cat on the Road to Findout.

The official synopsis for the book says it “finally reveals the curious complexity and intellectual reasoning behind his navigation through life” and shares “his lessons of life with those seekers, dreamers, and believers, who still love and admire him”.

Cat on the Road to Findout was released on September 18th in the UK, and will be released on October 2nd in the US.
