Yusuf/Cat Stevens announces ‘Cat On The Road To Findout’ tour
Yusuf/Cat Stevens has announced a tour for the first time in nine years, performing a selection of classic hits as well as telling stories of his life and career, in celebration of his upcoming memoir.
The Cat On The Road To Findout – An Evening Of Tales, Tunes And Other Mysteries tour will take in stops across the UK and North America in September and October this year, giving fans an intimate glimpse into the life of one of music’s most eclectic figures.
Previously announcing the news of his autobiography, the singer said: “Music was a way of discovering my purpose within the universe. I just kept on exploring, reading and learning more, ignoring myths and warnings and crossing dangerous-looking bridges into the vast ranges of philosophies and through the veils of the spiritual unknown.”
He continued: “Now I have written a book which explains what I’ve learned and the stories along the way. That doesn’t make me a teacher, but more of a potential specimen for those who are searching and pursuing happiness on all sides of the divide. Believe me, folks, it’s out there!”
Stevens’ tour will mark his first set of live appearances in almost a decade, following on from his performance on July 11th alongside Neil Young at BST Hyde Park, and two years on from his triumphant debut at Glastonbury Festival.
His UK and Ireland tour will take in stops in Cambridge, Bristol, Birmingham, London, Manchester, and Dublin, before concluding at The Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow on September 22 nd.
General sale for the tour will be made available on May 23rd, while his book, Cat On The Road To Findout, will be released on September 18th in the UK and October 7th in the US.
