Wu Lyf return with new single and announce North American tour
In the Spring of 2024, Manchester’s Wu Lyf released their first single in 13 years; now, they’re back with an 11-minute single and news of a North American tour.
Wu Lyf split in 2012 after releasing only one album, 2011’s Go Tell Fire to the Mountain. The original project has been consistently adored by fans and has reached cult status.
In April 2025, in Salford, Greater Manchester, the band returned to the stage to play three headline shows at the Kings Arms, after they released their comeback single, ‘A New Life Is Coming’. They also played Best Kept Secret in the Netherlands, Midi Festival in France, Haldern Pop Festival in Germany, and Italy’s Ypsigrock.
Now, the new 11-minute track, ‘Tib St. Tabernacle’, pushes the door onto their bright future wide open. The song was first conceived during informal sessions above a book shop on Manchester’s Tib Street that marked the beginning of their reunion.
The song, their press release asserts, shows Wu Lyf as “ritualistic, communal and as unconcerned with convention as ever.”
The band has remained committed to their own DIY approach; as with all recent releases, ‘Tib St. Tabernacle’ is available independently through the band’s online community, granting fans access to their music and creative endeavours without intermediaries.
As such, their releases will be available via Bandcamp and Nina Protocol. The works will not be available on any major streaming services.
Before they fly overseas in April, the band has three shows lined up. On January 22nd, they will host a listening party in Manchester. On February 19th, they are set to play Antigel Festival in Geneva, and on March 12th, they will appear at Les Inrocks Festival in Paris.
See the list of North American dates and cities below. Currently, Wu Lyf has not revealed what venues they will be playing in.
