Wolf Alice confirm full tracklist for new album ‘The Clearing’

Wolf Alice have revealed the full tracklist for their forthcoming album The Clearing, which is set to be released on August 22nd, 2025.

The band unveiled the details of the 11 songs in their most recent newsletter to fans, putting the previously released singles ‘Bloom Baby Bloom’ and ‘The Sofa’ alongside tracks such as ‘Bread Butter Tea Sugar’, ‘Leaning Against the Wall’, and ‘Thorns’.

The latter song, which serves as the opener to the album, also came with a snapshot of lyrics revealed by the group, which read: “The silver would’ve shone had you not twist/ Would the wounds have healed had you not wrote the words down/ Must you deliver the blow, you could have flex the fist.”

It comes as the release date for The Clearing was pushed forward by a week from its originally slated release on August 29th, presumably to move it out of contention with Sabrina Carpenter’s hotly anticipated Man’s Best Friend, which comes out on the same day.

Following on from their last critically acclaimed album, Blue Weekend, in 2022, the expectation for Wolf Alice to deliver is strong on this record, coming after an extended hiatus.

So far, their singles have indicated a masterful level of lyrical depth, with Far Out commenting on ‘The Sofa’: “A song craving some downtime as Ellie Rowsell near enough howls for permission to lie down, the track is mostly also about wanting a reprieve from a world that expects you to pick a side and be one thing.”

Having already premiered a selection of The Clearing’s tracks at their recent intimate warm up shows as well as across festivals, including Glastonbury, Wolf Alice are set to embark on their first ever UK arena headline tour later this year, taking in stops in Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Leeds, Glasgow, and Nottingham.

The Clearing will be released on August 22nd via Columbia Records.
